Dental Technology

At Humphries Dental, we know that staying up to date with the latest advances in dental technologies is the key to bringing you the highest quality treatment. That’s why we are always acquiring the most advanced tools dentistry has to offer. Here are some of the cutting-edge treatments and equipment you can expect to see in our practice:

CEREC® Primescan and Same-Day Crowns

What if we told you that you could receive quality restorative treatment on the same day you come in for your appointment? It’s true! Advancements in dental technology have led to the CEREC® System, which allows us to take digital impressions with Primescan and create dental crowns in-office without the need for a second visit. Humphries Dental is committed to the newest technology the dental field has to offer to make your life easier, and we are excited to provide CEREC® Primescan digital impressions (No more gooey material!) and same-day dental crowns milled in our office.

CBCT 3D Imaging

CBCT 3D Imaging is a new type of oral X-Ray that provides more detailed images than traditional radiography with even less radiation. The system uses a cone-shaped beam that produces 600 individual slides of images that add a higher level of fidelity when examining hard and soft tissue. The images are combined and generated in moments for your convenience.

Diode Laser

Diode lasers are used in preventive and periodontal treatments for bacteria reduction under the gums. Diode laser therapy is used in conjunction with scaling and root planing to increase healing and overall results of treatment. The goal is to reduce bacteria post-scaling and root planing. Dental diode lasers deliver clear benefits over conventional methods of treatment. The use of lasers means less post-operative pain, increased wound healing, and better results. Some benefits of using a diode laser for treatments are:

  • Effective bacteria reduction
  • Reduced bleeding
  • Increase in collagen and fiber attachments
  • Reduced pocket depth
  • Treatment of lesions, such as aphthous ulcers and cold sores
Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras are advanced optical devices that capture high-resolution images of the oral cavity. Due to their small size and maneuverability, intraoral cameras can be used to take a look at hard-to-reach areas in your mouth for increased precision in your treatment.

Itero® Scanner

iTero scans the mouths of patients, capturing images to create 3D dental images in minutes. The scans they produce are more detailed than traditional 2D images and help create accurate physical dental models to diagnose orthodontic problems, develop the best treatment plans, and improve patient outcomes.

OralID®

The OralID® system is a flashlight-like device that uses a fluorescent beam that helps see oral tissue in different colors. Using this light helps to easily identify abnormalities in the mouth before they can be seen by the human eye. This screening device is an effective diagnostic tool for early oral cancer detection. During Oral Cancer Awareness Month in April, this service is complimentary at the hygiene recare visit.

Solea®

Solea® is an advanced CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser system that can be used on soft and hard tissue. For starters, Solea® is almost entirely painless and minimally intrusive compared to traditional treatment. Using this advanced laser technology means that there’s no need for anesthesia and its cauterizing properties mean almost no bleeding. Solea® also allows us to complete procedures quickly and effectively with short downtime and faster healing and recovery.

Zoom!® In-Office Whitening

Zoom!® In-Office Whitening, the No.1 patient-requested professional whitening brand, is clinically proven to whiten teeth up to eight shades in 45 minutes (excluding prep time). The light-accelerated technology speeds up the whitening process, delivering dramatic results that you will love in just one office visit.
